Tupac Shakur or just "2Pac" was and still is one of the most important names in hip hop music. Born on June 16, 1971, in New York's East Harlem district, Tupac was involved in the longtime dispute between West Coast and East Coast hip hop.
Unfortunately he was murdered in a drive-by shooting in 1996 when he was only 25. His former friend and longtime rival "The Notorious B.I.G." was first considered a suspect, but also died during a drive-by shooting a couple months later. It's been more than two decades without him but he certainly left behind an amazing legacy!

Tupac's music career started as a way of protesting against the injustices experienced by African-American communities in the United States. During his early life, he used to sell drugs on the streets of New York and liked to write poetry. Often complaining that he was misunderstood In 1991 he released his first album 2Pacalypse, in an effort of showing his definition of a perfect album, "depicting the hard stuff," but also the beautiful things in life.

Tupac Shakur's amazing career includes five studio albums in total, 10 compilation albums, 50 music videos, and 44 singles, such as the iconic hits "California Love," and "So Many Tears." Not to mention that 6 posthumous albums have been released in recent years. After his death, he was inducted into the Hip-Hop Hall of Fame in 2002, and in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.
