Ed Sheeran has dropped a brand-new song just in time for summer! Thursday evening saw the British singer made his long-awaited return to music with the catchy pop tune "Bad Habits," which he also debuted with a surprising new video.
Sheeran explains "fantastical" take on music video for new song
Sheeran is one of the co-writers of "Bad Habits," which he also co- produced. As Entertainment Tonight shares, the singer-songwriter teamed up with Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid and FRED for the track. And when it comes to the accompanying visuals for the song, Sheeran certainly had a unique vision!
"I wanted the video for 'Bad Habits' to play on the nature of habits in a fantastical way so I decided on vampires," Sheeran said of the video, which is radically different from anything fans have seen from him before. But while he said it was "mega fun" to portray a glammed-up bloodsucker, he mentioned he didn't enjoy having to conquer heights!
Sheeran to perform new track "Bad Habits" on The Late Late Show
Sheeran also plans to promote his latest song "Bad Habits" in a major way! Entertainment Tonight reports that the singer will be enjoying a week-long stint on The Late Late Show With James Corden, which kicks off on June 28.
Fans can expect to see Sheeran play some of his biggest hits from his previous albums over the course of several nights. It's also said that he'll be talking to Corden, as well as taking part in some skits for the late night show. And of course, he'll debut "Bad Habits" live for the first time!
