Alan Eugene Jackson was born on October 17th, 1958 in Newnan, Georgia. Jackson sang in church as a child and wrote his first song in 1983 and in 1987, he cut an album titled New Traditional however it was very rare and only released in Japan. It wasn't until 1989 when Arista released his debut single "Blue Blooded Woman" that he started to get noticed.

Jackson's second album, Don't Rock the Jukebox was released in 1991 followed by many albums and hits like "Chattahoochee", "Livin' on Love", "Gone Country" and "She's Got the Rhythm (And I Got the Blues)." In the 2000s, Jackson and George Strait criticized the shift of country music towards pop music in the song "Murder on Music Row" and after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Alan released the song "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)" as a tribute to those killed in the attacks.

Alan Jackson has most recently toured in 2016 and 2017 with American Idol alumni Lauren Alaina. His most recent album release was in May 2021 with the album titled Where Have You Gone.
