Country outlaw group, The Highwaymen, was formed by some of country music's finest singers, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and Kris Kristofferson. Some of their best hits include "The Highwayman" and "Always on my Mind", and they continue to have a huge influence on outlaw music today! 

Formed in 1927, The Carter Family consisted of husband and wife duo Alvin Pleasant and Sara Carter, and their daughters Maybelle Carter, June Carter Cash, and Anita Carter. They were one of the first big country groups and will forever be remembered for songs like "Wildwood Flower" and "I Saw the Light". 

Alabama was one of the most successful groups of the 1980s and 90s formed by Randy Owen and his cousins Teddy Gentry and Jeff Cook. They have contributed to country music with hit songs including "Song of the South" and "Feels So Right", and will forever be remembered for their southern rock influence on country music! 

The Charlie Daniels Band is one of country's best bluegrass bands and consists of lead singer Charlie Daniels and his instrumental band. You can still catch the band on tour today and they are known for popular songs including "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Simple Man". 

As one of country music's most successful girl bands, The Dixie Chicks have been gracing country music with hit songs like "Cowboy Take Me Away" and "Travelin' Solider" since 1989! The group consists of lead singer Natalie Maines, Martie Erwin Maguire and Emily Erwin Robison. 

Mother and daughter duo, Naomi and Wynonna Judd, are known for their traditional country style and have penned hit songs including "Mama He's Crazy" and "Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout the Good Ol' Days)". While a relatively young group formed in 2000, The Zac Brown Band has already made a huge impact on country music with classics including "Chicken Fried" and "Knee Deep". The Zac Brown Band has attracted a wide audience helping to revive the country music genre with new followers!
