Billy Idol songs began to infiltrate the American music scene in the 1980s in what is now referred to as the "Second British Invasion". Born November 30, 1955, Billy began his musical career in the UK as a guitarist for the punk rock band Chelsea and later formed his own band, Generation X. 

After Generation X went their separate ways, Billy Idol made his way to New York in 1981 and quickly rose to fame following the release of his studio album, Billy Idol

When he's not performing, Idol spends his time working on causes dear to his heart, like his "Billy Never Idles" campaign in New York City to cut back on unnecessary idling automobile pollution.
