ABBA Release First New Songs In 40 Years, Announce Upcoming Album

ABBA is officially making music again! Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad took to social media on Thursday to announce their long-awaited comeback. "You’ve waited 40 years for a new @ABBA song and now there are two!" the Swedish pop group proclaimed. They shared their brand-new singles "I Still Have Faith In You" and "Don't Shut Me Down" with the world, as well as several other exciting announcements.

ABBA fans around the world were thrilled to find out that these singles aren't the only new tunes they're getting from the group! That's because ABBA also announced their ninth album, Voyage, will be released on November 5. They also have plans for a very special way to showcase their upcoming music, as well as some classic hits...

ABBA will be performing their new album in concert— but not in a way that fans might expect! The band's exciting social media announcements also saw them reveal details of the ABBA Voyage, a "revolutionary concert" which involves the quartet being turned into digital avatars. They shared that this will take place at ABBA Arena, a "state-of-the-art, purpose-built 3000 capacity arena" that's currently under construction in London.

ABBA gave fans a look at what the digitized— and de-aged— version of the group performing alongside a real-life band will look like. They mentioned that "state-of-the-art motion capture technology" has been used to create ABBA Voyage, and announced that tickets are now available for any fans who pre-order their album. While ABBA Voyage doesn't begin until Spring 2022, fans are undoubtedly already in anticipation of what the band has called "a concert 40 years in the making"!
