The ACM Awards original April 5 date was postponed amid concerns about the coronavirus pandemic. The annual celebration of the best in country music instead shifted its ceremony to the fall. Now, we have a specific date for the ceremony: Wednesday, September 16.

2020 ACM Awards postponed
The 2020 ACM Awards were originally to take place on April 5. That date won't go to waste, however. In place of the ceremony, the ACM will show a special night of performances and interviews titled "ACM Presents: Our Country." The April 5 show will include at-home performances by stars of the world of country music, as well as interviews and segments on ACM Awards history.

2020 ACM Awards: Keith Urban and other country music stars set to appear
The ACM's new ceremony will air just under six months from now. Keith Urban is still scheduled to host the 55th edition of the annual award show. The ACM's Twitter announcement also notes: "Additional details for the 55th ACM Awards are coming soon including location, performers, and more!"
