After the chemistry between Lady Gaga (35) and Bradley Cooper (46) in A Star Is Born was undeniable, many fans hoped that things would spark between the two of them in real life. Most fans didn't even care that Bradley was in a relationship with his daughter's mother, Irina Shayk (35), at the time.
Again and again, however, the actors themselves fueled these rumors by showing up together, sometimes intimately at public appearances. The most memorable was the emotional appearance at the Academy Awards in 2019. At that time, the pair sang their hit song "Shallow" together. Now Bradley finally declares: It was all just for show.
Bradley Cooper Speaks The Truth
Bradley Cooper told The Hollywood Reporter that this assumed intimacy with Lady Gaga reminded him of filming during their performance at the Oscars. Acting during the performance of "Shallow" reduced "the anxiety level," for Cooper.
After the film together, it felt normal for him to be so close to Lady Gaga. "They kind of fall in love in that scene in the film. It’s that explosive moment that happens to happen to them on a stage in front of thousands of people. … It would have been so weird if we were both on stools facing the audience," he revealed to THR.
Surely it was exactly this scene that had fans wishing that their idols felt that way in real life too. Back in 2019, Gaga had already denied the romance rumours and now that Bradley Cooper has finally spoken out about them, fans can put their hope to rest.
