Unique Lena Dunham was born May 13th, 1986 to an artsy family of painters and photographers in New York City. She grew up with Jewish-Protestant mixed parents who were very encouraging of her talents. As a young teenager, she once won a Scholastic Art and Writing Award that had been granted to greats like Andy Warhol, Richard Linklater, Ken Burns and Stephen King. Lena graduated in 2008 from Oberlin College with a degree in creative writing and set off into the world.
Lena Dunham's Rise To Fame
Dunham started her career by creating short YouTube films and had a few mildly successful web series' like Delusional Downtown Divas which eventually led her to her breakthrough in Hollywood with the film Tiny Furniture. The somewhat biographical feature film Tiny Furniture won her Best Narrative Feature at South by Southwest and multiple screenings at reputable film festivals.

With the great reception, she earned a spot with HBO for her 2012 series Girls. Girls was a ground-breaking show centered around her character loosely based on herself facing struggles that countless Millennials are thrown into. The comedy-drama series was a great success, launching the career of many of the actors like Adam Driver and was even nominated for 11 different Emmy Awards!
The show continued for 6 seasons and Lena went on to start her own production company and write her book Not That Kind Of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's "Learned" which hit the #2 spot on the New York Times Best Seller List.
Since her time making Girls she has been featured in Judd Apatow's This Is 40, Sky, Scandal, American Horror Story: Cult and Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Lena portrayed one of Charles Manson's well-known cult members "Gypsy".
She now has a new drama surrounding the financial world called Industry in the works and has been releasing weekly podcasts to support listeners with their mental health journey during the COVID-19 pandemic.
