Born in Indiana on July 30, 1964, Vivica Anjanetta Fox moved to sunny Southern California right after she completed high school. She enrolled in college and almost immediately began her work in television, first with Soul Train, and then with Days of Our Lives.

'Set It Off'

Vivica Fox, Jada Pinkett Smith, Queen Latifah and Kimberly Elise all starred in the 1996 crime-heist film Set It Off. What a cast, right? Critics and audience members mutually loved it - the film grossed $41 million against a $9 million budget.

'Independence Day'

Independence Day was certainly Vivica's biggest financial success! The film garnered over $817.4 million worldwide and won an Academy for Best Visual Effects! In the sci-fi action flick, she played Will Smith's girlfriend and the pair even went onto win an MTV Award for Best Kiss. The film's sequel, Independence Day: Resurgence was released in 2016 where Vivica reprised her role as "Jasmine".

'Soul Food'

In 1997, Vivica starred alongside Vanessa Williams for the comedy-drama film Soul Food. The film was critically acclaimed in Hollywood, where Fox was nominated for an NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture and received an MTV Award for Best Female Performance. It was announced in 2015 that there would be a sequel - More Soul Food - but we're waiting to see more updates!

'Kingdom Come'

Vivica would star again with her former co-star Jada Pinkett Smith in the 2001 comedy Kingdom Come. The film also stars LL Cool J, Anthony Anderson, Toni Braxton, Whoopi Goldberg and Loretta Devine. Kingdom Come is actually based from the Off-Broadway play Dearly Departed. Fox was nominated for both a BET Award for Best Actress and NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture, respectively.

'Two Can Play That Game'

Vivica would be nominated again for a BET and NAACP Award for Best Actress for her role in Two Can Play That Game. In the romantic comedy, she stars opposite Morris Chestnut as they challenge each other's ideals on what a man or woman wants. Other supporting acts in the film include Anthony Anderson, Gabrielle Union and Mo'Nique!

In Vivica's next comedy role, she portrayed a basketball player in the movie Juwanna Mann, alongside Miguel A. Núñez Jr., who portrayed the role of a female basketball player. While the film didn't do incredibly well in the box office, Fox still went on to be nominated for another NAACP award again!

'Motives'

In an incredibly intense film, Fox stars as Criminal Minds' Shemar Moore's wife in Motives. The 2004 movie is an erotics thriller that deals with different affairs, deaths, and an outstanding performance from Fox. As she was a producer of the film, she was also nominated for a Black Reel Award for Best Independent Film.

'Kill Bill' film series

In one of her most action-filled parts, Fox portrays "Vernita Green" aka "Copperhead" in the Quentin Tarantino films Kill Bill Volume 1 and 2. She went head-to-head in one epic and legendary fight scene with Uma Thurman. She told IndieWire that she, Uma, Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu and David Carradine all spent 8 hours a day for three entire months learning martial arts. And it shows! Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 are considered to be some of Tarantino's best works.

So, what's recently been going on for this power woman of Hollywood? A LOT! Vivica starred in the crime thriller 'Arkansas', starring Liam Hemsworth and Vince Vaughn. She additionally was in the films: 'Me & My Girlfriend', 'Masha's Mushroom' and '3 of A Kind'. Fox certainly knows how to keep busy and stay youthful throughout her career. We can't believe she's already 60!

Since the early '80s, Fox had relocated to California for both college and a career in show business. She began her start as a dancer on Soul Train, and then landed a role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1988. 

Fox then started garnering more attention as an actress, where she guest starred on shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Beverly Hills 90210 and Matlock.
