Jussie Smollett is going to spend some time behind bars! As People reports, Smollett was at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building in Chicago for his sentencing hearing on Thursday, where a judge officially decided the outcome of his case— which includes a jail sentence.
Smollett to spend months in jail, pay restitution
Smollett was found to be guilty of disorderly conduct in December when his case was put on trial. While it was unsure what consequences he would face as a result, Thursday's hearing saw Judge James Linn hand down his punishment. It has been confirmed by People that Smollett will not only be serving time in prison, he has also been sentenced to probation and required to pay legal fees.
The actor's prison sentence is said to last for 150 days, with 30 months of probation to follow. Smollett was also slapped with a $25,000 fine on top of the $120,106 in restitution fees the judge decreed he owes. Smollett made a concerning statement upon learning the outcome of his hearing, which his legal team reportedly seeks to have appealed by the court.

"I am not suicidal, and if anything happens to me when I go [to jail], I didn't do it to myself and you must all remember that," he is said to have told the judge.
