Those that know Vanderpump Rules could never forget the 2016 episode in which bad-boy James Kennedy referred to Katie Maloney as "pregnant" and again in 2018 telling her that her shorts were "unflattering for her body type".

Since then, Maloney and Kennedy have had no relationship, but Kennedy has revealed this season that he's changing his ways.

After getting fired from SUR by Lisa Vanderpump for not only his comments but excessive drinking, Kennedy shares that his drinking habit made him lash out and hurt those around him.

On Tuesday's episode, Kennedy reveals his AA meetings are going well, and that he's been sober for a month.

"It's just shown me a new light on like how I should be treating people and how disgusting it was, how I was treating people," he said before adding that part of his recovery includes making amends with those he's hurt.

Although at first Maloney seemed skeptical, adding that she's heard this before, Kennedy assures her this time it's for real.

"I'm not cold-blooded," she says in a confessional. "I feel like he actually spent time thinking about the things he's said and done, so I accept it."

But Maloney has never let the body shaming get her down, and has posted many body-positive posts on Instagram. She also revealed that she discovered she has an insulin deficiency, and has since lost 20lbs.
