Ty Pennington Engaged To Fiancee Kellee Merrell

Ty Pennington is engaged! In July, the 56-year-old announced that he proposed to his girlfriend Kellee Merrell, and she said yes. The reality TV star and host has never married, so it's big news for him.

On July 28, Ty Pennington first shared the news that he got engaged. On Instagram, he posted this shot of the engagement ring and wrote: "It's the 'yes' for me..."

With his big news, Pennington told People that he actually never expected to get married. "But she changed that," he said of his now-fiancée Kellee Merrell. "Glad I waited for the one," he added. So, who is the 33-year-old woman who's marrying Ty Pennington?

Kellee Merrell is a 33-year-old social media manager who was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada. According to People magazine, she and Pennington met over a decade ago on a TV shoot in Toronto.

Afterward, they stayed friends and later started a relationship that reconnected in 2020. They spent time in lockdown together, and they're now building their dream home, Pennington's rep told the outlet.

Over the last year, Pennington has been posting occasional photos of the couple, such as this nice nature shot. He captioned it: "Thank you ...Universe ...for creating this amazing human... who somehow tolerates me... even tho I'm beginning to look like papa smurf after a Willie Nelson concert."

Kellee doesn't appear to have any public social media pages, despite her job as a social media manager.

Fans will remember Pennington as the host of Trading Spaces and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, as well as Food Network programs and his newest HGTV show Ty Breaker.

Previously, Pennington was romantically linked to a woman named Andrea Bock. Some web sources suggest they were possibly engaged at one time, but they never announced that or moved forward to a wedding.

Ty and Kellee sure look like a winning couple. With this photo, Ty hilariously wrote: "Kellee hates having her picture taken so we're practicing our best 'blue steel' for the wedding…. clearly hers needs some work (she hasn't taken my classes)."
