David William Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960, in New York. Before he became a prominent actor, he earned his B.A at Princeton University and his M.A. at Yale University, both in English literature. Not bad, Duchovny!
The X-Files and Twin Peaks: David Duchovny
David Duchovny in Twin Peaks first had his acting debut in the Mike Nichols film, Working Girl, but would gain larger recognition for his part on the cult series Twin Peaks and The X-Files. His role as agent "Fox Mulder" in The X-Files lasted for nine seasons from 1993-2002, as well as its most recent season 10 which premiered in 2016!
He and co-star Gillian Anderson would also star in the 1998 film, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, which continued the sci-fi alien storyline.
Yet, The X-Files and Twin Peaks weren't the only hit shows Duchovny starred in - he also was cast in the main role as "Hank Moody" in the comedy-drama series Californication. For the show, Duchovny earned a Golden Globe for Best Actor – Musical or Comedy Series, along with multiple other nominations!
David Duchovny's career today
Duchovny's last serial project was in season 3 of Twin Peaks, a limited series event that premiered in 2017. He reprised his role as the transgender agent "Denise Bryson".
More recently, David has been focused on his music career! The actor/musician has released two studio albums since 2015, with his most recent set to be released either this year or next!
In 2020, he released the remake of the 1996 film, The Craft. We were excited to see Duchovny star in yet another eery role! His most recent roles are in the 2024 film Adam the First and the 2024 series The Sympathizer.
In his personal life, David was married to actress Téa Leoni from 1997-2014. They have two children together, a son and a daughter. It appears there are no other women in Duchovny's for now, just him, his band, and aliens.
