- 'Twilight' fans can delight
- Kristen Stewart reunited with Robert Pattinson
- She crashed his b-day celebrations
The heartthrob, known for his brooding vampire role, had an unexpected guest list that included director Catherine Hardwicke, the fabulous Toni Collette, and his former on-screen and off-screen flame, Kristen Stewart. The details spilled on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, and we've got the juicy tidbits!
Robert had a blast
Hardwicke, the mastermind behind the 'Twilight' phenomenon, dished out the deets, revealing how she and Collette decided to crash the party. "We had a fun thing, and then Kristen crashed it too," Hardwicke exclaimed. Imagine the scene: a casual birthday party turning into a full-blown 'Twilight' throwback!
The director recounted the shock and delight as Stewart walked in, "Catherine? Rob’s birthday? What’s going on?" to which Hardwicke replied, "I kind of crashed it with Toni." Stewart's response? "Well, I crashed it too." Talk about a fang-tastic surprise!
This impromptu gathering comes a decade after Pattinson and Stewart's real-life love story fizzled out, and 11 years post the epic conclusion of their cinematic love triangle with werewolves and vampires. But the sparks they once shared? Hardwicke insists they were "instant" during their auditions, especially during the iconic biology scene at her kitchen table.
Stewart rang the bell at the gate and checked if it was cool for her to come, Hardwicke said, to which Pattinson “of course” welcomed her. "He’s such a lovely person," Hardwicke said.
Despite the initial doubts from Summit Entertainment about Pattinson's heartthrob potential, Hardwicke knew he was the one. "They’re both, like, so indie," she said, referring to the common ground Pattinson and Stewart shared.
Also interesting:
Stewart and Pattinson’s recent reunion comes 10 years after the costars ended their off-screen romance, which spanned all five of the hit movies but was kept largely private by the actors. Now, Pattinson is currently expecting his first child with girlfriend Suki Waterhouse, and Stewart is engaged to fiancée Dylan Meyer.
In 2019, Stewart said she and Pattinson chose to keep things between them out of the spotlight because "so much was taken from us, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, ‘No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it’s ours,’" she told 'Harper’s Bazaar UK.'
So, Twi-hards, it seems the magic of 'Twilight' lives on, even if just for a night. And who knows? With reunions like this, the twilight might just be the start of a new dawn for these stars!
