Stephen Moyer played the role of the vampire "Bill Compton" on HBO's True Blood from 2008 until 2014 and became a TV legend during the show's run.
But while his biggest successes to date - and the roles he will always be connected with - were on TV shows like True Blood and FOX's The Gifted (2017- 2019), Moyer also had some roles in feature films. And his very first role on the big screen was even alongside another future TV icon!
Stephen Moyer's big screen debut: Prince Valiant
In 1997, Moyer made his big-screen debut in the film adaptation of the long-running comic strip Prince Valiant. The Irish-British production directed by Anthony Hickox also starred Ron Perlman (Hellboy) as well as Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy).
The story is based on the myth of King Arthur and Moyer portrayed the lead character "Valiant", who starts out as a squire, falls for the Welsh "Lady Ilene" (Heigl) and ends up claiming his destiny as "Prince Valiant", rescuing her and recovering the magical sword Excalibur.
While the movie (honestly speaking) looks decent at best, it helped Moyer get more work and eventually lead him to THE role of his career on True Blood. As a bonus, Moyer also met his future wife Anna Paquin on the show - she played his love interest "Sookie Stackhouse" and now they have two children.
And we all know where the lovely Katherine Heigl ended up, as she played one of the lead roles ("Isobel 'Izzie' Stephens") on the ABC hit series Grey's Anatomy for five years!
