John Travolta has had to cope with the loss of many dear friends. He has gone through many ups and downs, good days and bad days. He has sadly lost four important women in his life due to breast cancer. In 1977, his girlfriend at the time, Diana Hyland, passed away. She was 41 years old at the time and he was 23.
This was the first time the actor was introduced to the terrible disease that would follow him throughout his life. Shortly thereafter, his mother Helen Travolta also fell ill. In 1978 she also lost the fight against cancer.

In 1989 he met the actress Kelly Preston. They got married and had three children together. Unfortunately, they also had to cope with the death of their eldest son Jett, who died at the age of 16 after suffering an epileptic seizure.
