Arnold Schwarzenegger found himself the victim of an accident on set while filming the 1990 film Total Recall! As People shares, Schwarzenegger told the story in a video interview with Yahoo! Entertainment, which was originally from 2015. And since Total Recall has just celebrated its 30th anniversary, it was a fitting time to bring the interview back!
Schwarzenegger "had to get stitched up during lunch break"
Schwarzenegger shared that the "deep" wound on his wrist he suffered was the result of a prop mishap. As People mentions, Schwarzenegger's character in Total Recall was supposed to smash a subway window while also holding a gun. However, the prop glass of the window didn't shatter when it was supposed to!
"They did not explode the window before I hit the window with the gun, so therefore I cut my wrist deep," recalled Schwarzenegger. "And I had to get stitched up during lunch break, which was at like midnight because we were night-shooting."

Once he'd had his wrist stitched, they had to make sure his injury wouldn't be visible during the rest of the day's shoot. "After I was stitched up and everything, we hid the bandages," Schwarzenegger shared. "We pulled the jacket all the way to the front and taped it up so we don't see the bandages."
People says that according to Yahoo! Entertainment, the scene was shot at Mexico City Metro stations in 1989, with the transit depots standing in for the 2084-set Total Recall's futuristic location.
