Bennett's death was confirmed by his publicist on July 21, as 'The Guardian' reports. The cause of death has yet to be announced, but the legendary singer was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016. He remained in good spirits, however, taking to Twitter in 2020 to say, "Life is a gift - even with Alzheimer's."
Tony's legacy inspired many generations
Everyone loved Tony for his spunk and personality, spanning several decades in his career. Bennett grew up in Queens, New York, and became a singing waiter as a teenager. He later enrolled at New York's School of Industrial Art. In 1944, Bennett was drafted to fight in WWII.
