Greece has just gained two new famous citizens! Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson have often gushed about their connection with the beautiful country and now they can come and go as they please!
Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson Become Official Greek Citizens
The Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis took to Instagram to announce the big news, that Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson are now officially citizens of Greece! Along with a photo of him and his wife with Tom and Rita posing with their new passports the Prime Minister wrote "@ritawilson @tomhanks are now proud Greek citizens!"
The My Big Fat Greek Wedding producer Rita Wilson recently learned on the show Who Do You Think You Are? about her deep Greek heritage. She and Castaway's Tom have been very vocal about their love for the gorgeous country, traveling there as often as they can and raising awareness and financial support for disaster relief after the terrible and deadly fire in Athens.
