Seth Rogen's new novel Yearbook has tons of strange and hilarious Hollywood encounters. One story in particular is getting a lot of attention!
Seth Rogen's Dinner With Tom Cruise
Howard Stern just interviewed the Pineapple Express star Seth Rogen about meeting Tom Cruise. He explained to Howard, "There was this very weird period, where he had had his child, but no one had seen his child and there was genuine speculation as to whether the child was real. I remember meeting this baby, being like, 'This poor baby doesn't know she's like the most talked about person on the planet.' Which is a lot of pressure."
After spending the day with Tom Cruise, his family and Knocked Up director Judd Apatow, Tom tried to steer the conversation to his controversial religion. Seth claimed, "He said, 'I think the pharmaceutical industry is making me look bad.'"
"'It's like with Scientology,' he said, 'If you let me just tell you what it was really about... just give me like 20 minutes to, like, really just tell you what it was about, you would say, 'No f**king way. No f**king way.'"
Luckily, strategic director Judd was able to smoothly get the conversation away from the famously manipulative "religion." Sensing Tom was making the proudly Jewish Seth uncomfortable, he chimed in. "Thank God Judd was like, 'Eh, I think we're good. Let's just talk about movies and stuff.'"
Seth joked about his relief and told Howard, "If I was there alone, I would be singing a very different tune right now!"
