Tina Turner was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and actress. She was born on November 26, 1939, in Brownsville, Tennessee. Known for her powerful voice and energetic stage performances, she was considered one of the most successful singers of all time, with nearly 200 million records sold. She died on May 24, 2023, in Küsnacht, Switzerland.
Tina Turner, who was actually born Anna Mae Bullock, began her musical career in the 1950s as a singer in the band Kings of Rhythm. Her ex-husband Ike Turner was also a member.In 1960, the two married and formed the duo Ike & Tina Turner. Together they had numerous hits. These included "River Deep - Mountain High" and "Proud Mary", which brought them worldwide success and recognition.
In the 1970s, Tina Turner launched a successful solo career. With albums such as "Private Dancer" (1984) and hits like "What's Love Got to Do with It", she gained international recognition and became a superstar.Her characteristic style, which was a mixture of rock, pop and soul, delighted millions of fans around the world.
Despite her success, Tina Turner also had to deal with personal tragedies, professional challenges, and relationships in the public eye.Her marriage with Ike was marked by domestic violence.
