- Adele is a British pop sensation
- She tends to have large gaps between albums
- THIS is the reason why she tends to take long breaks
Adele, the British vocal powerhouse, known for her chart-topping hits and soul-stirring ballads, has finally spilled the beans on why her fans have had to endure agonizing waits between albums. With a career spanning over a decade and a mere four albums to her name, the "Rolling in the Deep" songstress has often left the public pondering over her prolonged absences from the music scene.
Adele likes to keep the fans waiting for more
During an emotionally charged acceptance speech at 'The Hollywood Reporter's' Women event, Adele addressed the whispers and rumors head-on.
"Sometimes I wonder if people think I’m calculated when I disappear for years on end and I’m elusive and I believe that less is more or something like that," she said.
For many fans, the question of why Adele tends to have long such breaks had become a very pertinent one. After all, when the music is that good, you just want to keep the show going.
"But the real reason that I’ve only had four albums and I don’t think that many people know this – they know that I have a child – my son is 11 years old. So if you do the math, that means that at the height of ‘21’… I fell pregnant. To many that would be, and it was, considered career suicide."
"It was there and then that I chose to reject the scarcity of success, and the idea that you have to be constantly relevant to be successful," she continued. "And that perhaps, just maybe, I could be a hit both on and off the stage. And you’ll never guess what — I got away with it!"
Embracing her new role as a mother, she boldly chose to step back from the limelight, shunning the industry's relentless pace for the joys of parenthood.
Adele then attributed her success to other women in the industry who set a precedent that being a successful professional and parent are not mutually exclusive.
"It's because of them that I have every right to be the boss at work and the boss at home," Adele added.
She was joined at the event by her beau Rich Paul, whom she is rumored to have married. During her speech, however, the singer referred to Paul as her boyfriend.

From her debut '19' in 2008 to her latest masterpiece '30' released after a six-year hiatus, Adele's discography may be concise, but it's nothing short of spectacular. Each album marks a milestone, not just in her career but in her personal journey as well.
Adele's revelation has not only shed light on the enigma of her intermittent musical offerings but has also struck a chord with fans worldwide, who now understand the depth of her dedication to both her craft and her child.
