There was a time when Emma Watson was one of the world's biggest child actors, appearing in the beloved Harry Potter series. However, Watson decided in her early 20s that acting was a side passion, and attended Oxford University, before turning her sights towards philanthropy. Focusing on global women's rights, Watson spoke before the world leaders at a  United Nations summit. Talk about impressive!

Just like Watson, Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen live pretty discreet lives following their global fame as child actresses. Now, the notorious twins are working on a fashion label, and stay away from the cameras. The fashion brand wasn't advertised as being a Mary-Kate and Ashley brand, and that was done intentionally. The twins for now just wanted to focus on their brand, and distance themselves from their high-profile past.

Jack White is super popular among the alternative crowd, being the frontman for the successful bands The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, and The Dead Weather. White has always made it clear he's about the music, and not about the fame. He doesn't use social media unless he wants to promote new music, and he generally avoids award shows. 

Dave Chappelle faced the wrath of Hollywood, being in the media frenzy over comedic controversy, and has since then decided to lay low and hit up a farm in a small town in Ohio. Enjoying life away from L.A, Chappelle opened up to David Letterman in his Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction and spoke about how relieved he feels since getting away from the flashing lights. 

While Sandra Bullock would be recognized anywhere, this actress is one that prefers not to fly above the radar. Having no social media accounts, Bullock tends to keep to herself, focusing on herself and her children. While she'll occasionally make a talk show appearance, Bullock only ever does so to promote her movies, and doesn't like to speak on her personal life.

Frank Ocean has collaborated and written some of the most well-known songs, working with artists like Kanye West, and producer and DJ Calvin Harris. Despite being featured on a plethora of modern songs, Frank Ocean is a recluse and isn't one to flash his money or fame. 

Musician Adele is another celeb that chooses to avoid the spotlight unless she has new music she wants to tell her fans about! Living in the UK, Adele spends most of her time away from the spotlight, and chooses to focus on her music and not the fame that came along with it!

Frances McDormand is hard to find! She has no social media, and chooses not to attend many events at all, unless it's for her thespian arts, like the Oscars. Despite winning an armful or two of awards herself, McDormand chooses not to expose her personal life with her fans, and lives a pretty quiet life when not in front of the camera.

Daniel Day-Lewis is another award-winning actor that chooses to spend most of his time behind closed doors! While he may be a truly wonderful actor, he doesn't want his personal life out there for the world to see, and only attends award shows when he is a part of a movie that is nominated. Otherwise, this actor likes to spend his time with his family, away from the spotlight. 

Michelle Williams is not just a wonderful actress, but one of the most beautiful of our time, too! Despite having a large fanbase, Williams doesn't want to share anything about her personal life and even secretly married musician, Phil Elverum.
