The boy was found alone on the boat later that day, but Rivera was missing for five days. Rivera and her son are believed to have been swept away by a current, and although she managed to save her son, she did not have the strength to save herself.

Jeff Buckley – The musician known for his rendition of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' died in a freak accident in 1997 at the age of 30. Reportedly, Buckley spontaneously decided to go into the Mississippi River, to swim. A friend was watching him, but when he looked away for a minute, Buckley disappeared. It is believed that a large boat passed close to him and that the wake dragged him away. His body was found miles down the river six days later.

Brian Jones – The original leader of the Rolling Stones and an even wilder rock star than Keith Richards or Mick Jagger, he was fired from the band due to his drug addiction in 1969. Three weeks later, at the age of 27, he was found dead in his own pool. His death was ruled an "accidental death" as he had high levels of drugs and alcohol in his system. Although there are theories that suggest that Jones committed suicide after being fired from the band.

Eric Fleming- The actor was at the start of filming a production in Peru when he and his co-star Nico Minardos were in a canoe that capsized in the Huallaga River. Minardos managed to swim to safety, but Fleming was swept away and drowned on September 28, 1966, at age 41, leaving his fiancée Lynne Garber behind.

During a party on a boat, he decided to dive into the river to retrieve lost items, including a silver frame with a photo from his previous wedding. Tragically, after one last dive, he never surfaced and his body was found 30 minutes later.
