Dolly Rebecca Parton was born on January 19th, 1946. She is one of twelve children and grew up on a run-down old farm in Tennessee. By age 13, she was already recording on a small label and appearing at the Grand Ole Opry! She moved to Nashville once she graduated high school in 1964 and her career took off from there!

Dolly got her own talk show, Dolly, in 1976 and she got her first Grammy award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance for the song Here You Come Again in 1977. Her first movie appearance was in the film 9 to 5 also in 1980.
