Ansel Elgort was born on March 14, 1994 in Manhattan, New York. His mother Grethe Barret Holby is a stage producer, while his father Arthur is a photographer. Elgort attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School, and one of his classmates was Timothée Chalamet!
In 2013, Elgort began his acting career when he played "Tommy" in the remake of Carrie. In 2014, he appeared as "Caleb" in Divergent, and became a household name when The Fault in Our Stars debuted in theatres a few months later.
