On November 20, superstar Taylor Swift took home all six awards she was nominated for at the American Music Awards, including artist of the year. NBC reports that the singer-songwriter has now won a total of 40 AMA awards, breaking her own previous record.
"I have the fans to thank essentially for my happiness," Taylor Swift said according to NBC. In the past three years, the 32-year-old superstar has released four albums and two re-recordings.
Taylor Swift Wins Big With Red
Following its October debut, her most recent album, Midnights, took all ten of the top spots on Billboard's singles chart. Swift's re-recording of her 2012 album Red won swift AMA awards for favorite pop album, country album and video.
Other big winners of the evening included Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny, who took home favorite male Latin artist and favorite Latin Album for Un Verano Sin Ti. Lionel Richie was awarded AMA's icon award and was celebrated with a medley of his songs performed by Stevie Wonder and Charlie Puth.
