Brie Larson catches Taika Waititi stashing his Oscar award under a chair

Waititi won the much coveted Oscar award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on Jojo Rabbitbut later found when he went back to his seat, he had no where to put the golden statue.

The hilarious moment was caught by actress Brie Larson, who shared the clip on her Instagram story.

The writer and actor noted when receiving his award that he thought it was 'really light'.

He also went on to say during his acceptance speech, “I’d like to thank my mother… for being my mother, and for many other reasons, and for giving me the book that I adapted,” he continued. “This film wouldn’t have existed without you doing that.”

The New Zealand native dedicated his win to “all the indigenous kids in the world, who want to do art and dance and write stories. We are the original storytellers, and we can make it here, as well.”
