TV personality Jeff Probst has been the host of Survivor for 20 years now and is extremely popular. The 59-year-old appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan in February of 2020 and revealed the he actually had quite the health scare very and needed to consult a neurosurgeon.
Jeff Probst had Transient Global Amnesia
While talking to Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa this year, Probst told them how he struggled to remember his wife's birthday when he was booking travel for both of them.
"I couldn't figure it out," explained Probst. "So I texted my wife and I said, 'Can you call me?' And she called me and said, 'What's going on?'" he said. He had no idea where his kids were at that moment either, he had "zero recollection of anything."
"I had no idea who I was, where I was. I even wrote a note… on my laptop I wrote a note that said, 'For our records, I have no idea why I’m wearing these clothes'," he added. "I have no idea where our kids are. I have no idea what day it is. I have no idea why I’m writing this."
He went and saw a neurosurgeon the next day who told him that what he experienced is called transient global amnesia, an unexpected bout of temporary memory loss.
Probst ensures that it was a one-time-thing and his memory actually returned quickly, right before he had a MRI. "It was like that quickly, oh wow, I'm back," he said, snapping his fingers and added that he's now "100 per cent" fine.
