- Dolly Parton is a country legend
- She performed at this year's Super Bowl
- THIS is how she brought the house down
The Dallas Cowboys didn't just bring the heat; they brought the whole kitchen to Thanksgiving! In a stunning 45-10 triumph over the Washington Commanders, the Cowboys showed no mercy. Dak Prescott was slinging touchdowns like they were hot potatoes, tossing 331 yards and securing four touchdowns.
But wait, there's more! The man of the hour was seen chomping down a turkey leg with Zack Martin. Talk about a victory feast!
And then there was Dolly...
NFL history was rewritten right before our eyes! But hold your horses, because the real showstopper was none other than the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton!
Lighting up social media like a Christmas tree, Dolly performed at the Salvation Army’s 27th annual Red Kettle Kickoff Halftime Show, rocking a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader outfit that had jaws dropping and hearts racing. Singing hits like "Jolene" and "9 to 5," she proved once again why America just can't get enough of Dolly!
Parton kicked the show dressed in a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader uniform with a bedazzled bodysuit underneath with the lights dimmed at AT&T Stadium.
Parton also sang Queen’s hit "We Are the Champions," before ending her performance with another Queen song "We Will Rock You."
It was the second time in less than a week that Parton was seen on a football field, as she joined NFL great Peyton Manning for Tennessee’s game against top-ranked Georgia on Saturday. Parton joined the crowd in singing "Rocky Top" at the end of the first quarter.
"Well, I couldn’t hear, but I love the song!" Parton said after her performance, according to WATE 6 in Knoxville. "I just want you to know how proud I am to be here and thank you so much for taking special attention to do whatever we do. And I had a little trouble with hearing, but we know ‘Rocky Top,’ and that song was written by Boudleaux and Felice Bryant, and Dale, their son, is in the stadium tonight. So I guess we’ll play ball! Thank you!"
The Super Bowl was Dolly's party
The NFL tabbed three different artists to perform at halftime during all three Thanksgiving games in 2023. Jack Harlow performed at halftime as the Green Bay Packers took on the Detroit Lions. His performance wasn't received nearly as well as Parton's.
Tony Romo, former Cowboys quarterback was smitten, saying, "She looks amazing, right? She’s wonderful. Who doesn’t like Dolly Parton?" Jim Nantz, broadcaster chimed in, "She is absolutely an American treasure, that’s for sure." And we couldn't agree more!
Also interesting:
The halftime shows are a tradition for all fans, and they are also a part of the Salvation Army’s Red Kettle Campaign which is done to provide money for families for Christmas gifts, rent assistance and housing.
Not to be overshadowed, the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers also served up some Thanksgiving wins, but let's be real – the Cowboys and Dolly Parton were the main course this holiday!
