Born August 14, 1945, American actor and comedian, Steve Martin would get his start at the age of 10 working at Disneyland. By his teenage years, Steve had become interested in magic tricks and took a job in the Magic Shop in Disney's Fantasyland. From there it would only be a hop, skip, and a jump away from Steve's switch to comedy!

'The Tonight Show'

While Steve Martin would take interest in many subjects during his university years, including philosophy, poetry, and even theater, he would ultimately drop out to pursue a career in stand-up comedy! Martin was destined for success and by the age of 23 had earned an Emmy Award for his help in writing for The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. By the 1970s, Steve Martin was making more regular appearances as a stand-up comedian on shows including The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In fact, Steve holds the second spot for the most amount of appearances as a guest host on Saturday Night Live, second only to Alec Baldwin!
