He also starred in 'Days of Our Lives' and many stars from both shows took to social media to honor Tyler after learning about his passing on October 31. Maurice Benard, who was on 'General Hospital' with Tyler, was the first soap actor to speak out about Tyler’s death on Instagram.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher," Maurice wrote, alongside two photos of the late star. "Tyler passed away this morning following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment. "Tyler was a truly talented individual that lit up the screen in every scene he performed and relished bringing joy to his loyal fans through his acting,” he added. "Tyler was a sweet soul and wonderful friend to all of those who knew him."

Christopher died following a cardiac event in his San Diego apartment on Tuesday morning, leaving his former castmates, TV partners, and friends in shock. Social media has been flooded with heartfelt tributes to the talented actor, as the community begins to process the loss.
Kelly Thiebaud, who played one of Christopher’s character’s love interests on 'General Hospital', expressed her sorrow on Instagram, stating, "Tyler was so talented and made you feel something when you watched him. You will always be remembered Tyler. Rest in peace."
Camila Banus, who starred alongside Christopher on NBC's 'Days of Our Lives', shared her response to the loss, stating, "When you work with a true artist you feel it, I did with Tyler. He was truly a gifted and kind man. He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace Tyler Christopher."
Steve Burton, another co-star from 'General Hospital', described the actor as a brother and shared, "This hits hard. Really hard. We lost one. A beautiful and talented soul at that. It hurts. Thank you for the memories brother Ty. Love you. See you in Heaven."
Rebecca Budig, another of Christopher’s former onscreen love interests, wrote on Instagram that she’d been gut punched in the wake of his death, while Gilles Marini, who starred alongside Christopher on 'Days of Our Lives', paid his respects, writing, "You'll be missed my man."
Nicholas Bechtel, who played Christopher's onscreen son on 'General Hospital', praised their "unmatched" chemistry, stating, "Working with you for so many years was a pleasure and a blessing. You were so talented, quick-witted, and never too serious."
