Sophie Turner Speaks on Divorce from Joe Jonas

Sophie Turner, known for her iconic role in Game of Thrones, has recently spoken out about her split from musician Joe Jonas. The couple, who finalized their divorce in September 2023, had been married for four years. Despite the challenges, Turner is focusing on the positives as she navigates this new chapter in her life.

In an interview with 'Harper's Bazaar', published on October 30, Turner candidly shared, "I'm going through a legal process right now where I can't really say much, but it was incredibly sad." This statement highlights the emotional weight of the situation, as she acknowledged the beauty of their relationship and the difficulty of the breakup.

"I'm unhappy with the way everything played out, especially when it comes to my children," she told 'British Vogue' in May. "They're the victims in all of this. But I think we're doing the best we can. I'm confident that we can figure it out. Joe is a great father to our children and that's all that I can ask for."

She also hopes that in the future, they can repair their relationship for Willa and Delphine's sake.

"My dream is to have a huge Christmas where my daughters can have their dad there, Joe's whole side of the family, their grandparents," she added. "I don't care about the politics, I just want the girls to feel loved and have everyone show up for them."

After parting ways with Jonas, Turner has found solace in returning to her roots in the United Kingdom. Having previously lived in Los Angeles and Miami with Jonas, the actress expressed her joy at being back home.

"I'm so happy to be back," she said, emphasizing the sense of belonging she feels in London. Turner noted, "It felt as if my life was on pause until I returned to England. I just never really feel like myself when I'm not in London, with my friends and family."

"I was away for so long—six years—and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant," she continued. "I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, 'I never got to touch your belly.' We didn't have those key experiences with each other."

Still, it hasn't always been easy to adjust to her new chapter as the 28-year-old noted that being home without her daughters when they're with their dad, per their custody agreement, is "agony."

This move has been a significant step in her healing process, allowing her to reconnect with her friends and family, which has been crucial for her well-being.

Turner's return to the UK marks not just a geographical change but also a symbolic new beginning. Surrounded by familiar faces and places, she is immersing herself in the support of her loved ones. This transition underscores her resilience and determination to embrace the future with optimism.

"Before I had kids, I was very depressed and anxious, and I would isolate [myself] a lot," she reflected. "Now, I think I live my life for them. I want them to see me having a social life and enjoying work and thriving in my career and relationships. I want them to see a hard-working mum."
