Shannen Doherty (†53) has passed away. This was confirmed by her publicist, Leslie Sloane, in a statement to "It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease."
The statement continues: "The devoted daughter, sister, aunt and friend was surrounded by her loved ones as well as her dog, Bowie. The family asks for their privacy at this time so they can grieve in peace."
The star of 'Beverly Hills 90210' was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

Shannen Doherty suffered from cancer
Shannen Doherty first learned of her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. At the time, she battled through strenuous chemotherapy and was able to put the illness behind her for a while.
Then came the shock in February 2020: the actress confirmed on the US show 'Good Morning America' that the cancer had returned. She wanted to get ahead of the media with her devastating news and therefore dropped the bombshell: "It's going to come out in a matter of days or a week that I'm stage 4. So my cancer came back, and that's why I'm here."
According to the "Cancer Information Service," stage four breast cancer is the most advanced stage. At this stage, distant metastases are present in the body, meaning the tumor has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body.
