Shailene Woodley couldn't be happier to talk about her fiancé, Aaron Rodgers! As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Woodley discussed being engaged to the Green Bay Packers quarterback on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday— her first appearance since their relationship was confirmed!
Woodley never expected to end up with an athlete
Woodley told Fallon that she and Rodgers met during quarantine. And while their engagement may be news to the world, she revealed that it actually happened some time ago! "For us, it's not new news, you know? So it's kind of funny," Woodley said, mentioning that she and Rodgers have "been engaged for a while."
And when it came to talking about her husband-to-be, Woodley couldn't help but gush. "He's, first off, just a wonderful, incredible human being," she said of Rodgers. The actress also confessed that she hasn't been to a football game, and said that while she never imagined she would be with "somebody who threw balls for a living," Rodgers is "really just so good at it."
Woodley says she doesn't see Rodgers as "a football guy"
Woodley then went on to talk about how despite Rodgers' status as a star football player, she's gotten to know him on a completely different level. "'Cause I don't know him as a football guy," she explained. "I know him as, like, the nerd who wants to host Jeopardy!. That's the dude I know."
As Entertainment Tonight mentions, Rodgers announced he was engaged earlier this month, casually sharing his new relationship status while making an acceptance speech at the NFL Honors! Even though he didn't mention Woodley's name at the time, their relationship was confirmed shortly before. And now, we can officially congratulate the couple on their engagement!
