Henry Cavill's "Superman" absolutely took the world by storm when he it first appeared on screen. And for many fans, he was the best of them all. Although the Hollywood star only announced his comeback as a superhero in October, he now has to share this difficult message via Instagram:
Cavill and "Superman" were a match made in heaven
"I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it's sad news, everyone. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn't the easiest, but that's life. The changing of the guard is something that happens".

The news was like a gut punch to DC's most loyal consumers who were already expecting Cavill to reprise his famous role. "I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build", Henry explained. Cavill is said to have been promised the role before Gunn and Safran took the helm at DC Studios.
