Although it looks like it could be some time before we see our favorite Canadian back up on the big screen. Because last month on an interview with LinkedIn, Reynolds confessed that he will be taking a little break from acting for the foreseeable future. Given his recent body of work in the past few years, it's hard to argue with that decision, because it's clear that Reynolds has been a very busy man!
Appearing in films like Deadpool 2, Red Notice, and Free Guy seems to have taken quite a toll on the actor, and now he wants to shift his focus onto what considers more important endeavors: spending time with his family!
Ryan Reynolds Wants A Break From Acting
All the time spent on set means, less time spent at home as Reynolds explained: "The biggest thing for me...is that I don't want to miss this time with my kids - I want my kids to have a pretty normal schedule. For many years, when my wife Blake would shoot a film, I would not shoot a film, and I would be with the kids and vice versa. So we would sort of trade off."
"We never really worked at the same time - now that they're in school, they have a somewhat normal schedule. I think it's totally important for their development, and I really enjoy being a present dad," said Reynolds.
Although his biggest fans will be disappointed, few could blame the actor for taking some time to dedicate to his children and his wife Blake Lively. And it seems like he will have plenty to keep him busy anyway:
"I love taking them to school in the morning. I love picking them up," said Reynolds, while elaborating that he also wants time to focus on his production company, Maximum Effort.
He'll surely be back on the screen before we know it, but until then let's hope he gets the rest he needs!
