Ryan Reynolds can easily explain why he and Blake Lively work so well together! The Free Guy star recently talked to Entertainment Tonight about his marriage to Lively, dishing on what exactly it is that makes them well-suited as a couple.
Reynolds says he and Lively have "always liked each other"
Reynolds' comments about his relationship came during a press interview for his latest project, the action flick Red Notice. As it turns out, he feels that his close bond with Lively is in large part due to the genuine friendship between them! "We don’t take each other too seriously, but we're also friends," he told Entertainment Tonight's Matt Cohen.
The actor then went on to reveal what he feels the most important question going into a new relationship is. "Falling in love is great, but do you like each other?" Reynolds said. When it comes to how much he and Lively share this mutual feeling, the star said that they "always liked each other" and have supported one another throughout the years. "We grow together. We learn from each other," he said, calling Lively his "buddy".
Reynolds and Lively are known to have playful social media banter, and earlier this month, Reynolds shared his plans to put his acting career on pause for a while to spend time with his family. As Entertainment Tonight mentions, he also commented on this at the Red Notice premiere, explaining his desire to get in some "quality time with my kids before they're teenagers."
