For months now, millions of fans around the world have been awaiting news of the new 'Deadpool' movie. The 'Deadpool 3' set is buzzing with more action than a beehive on a hot summer day, and not all of it is scripted! Despite the SAG-AFTRA strike pause button, the cameras are rolling again, and oh boy, the leaks are flowing faster than Deadpool's wisecracks.
Ryan wants to keep it a surprise
Ryan Reynolds, our beloved "Merc with a Mouth", took to an Instagram story with a plea that's got the internet in a frenzy. "Surprises are part of the magic of theatrical movies," he says, and he's not just talking about his spandex suit. The star's passionate plea for secrecy is a rallying cry for all who love a good surprise.
"It is important for us to shoot the new Deadpool film in real, natural environments, using practical effects as opposed to making the movie indoors and digitally,' Ryan said. "Telephoto lenses continue to spoil surprises and create a difficult situation for everyone."
Reynolds lamented how some of the movie's surprises might have been spoiled due to the leaks, but he also recognized this is not a "real world" issue.
"Here’s hoping some of the websites and social channels hold back showing images before they’re ready," he added. "The film is built for audience joy – and our highest hope is to preserve as much of that magic as possible for the finished film and the big screen. Part of the reason people post spoilers is because they’re excited. I realize these aren’t real world issues and it’s firmly in the ‘good problems’ bucket. I love making this movie."
The set spies have been working overtime, and they've caught a glimpse of what's to come. "Sabretooth", that ferocious feline of the "X-Men" world, is back and it looks like he's lost his head...literally!
Photos of "Deadpool" holding "Sabretooth's" severed noggin have fans clawing for answers. And if that wasn't enough to make you purr with excitement, there's a giant 20th Century Fox logo lurking on set, a cheeky nod to the days before Disney's big buyout.
Perhaps it's all a ploy to make sure people get their bums in their seats for the film's premiere. It's very clear that the movie is going to have yet another huge opening day at the box office. And it wouldn't be the first time that producers allow certain leaks to happen in order to draw some excitement for a movie's launch.
