Ryan Murphy is best known as a director and producer for eerie series such as the newest Netflix hit Ratched, as well as FX's American Horror Story. However, he recently posted on his Instagram an emotional message for his now 6-year old son, Ford, who is a cancer survivor.
Ryan Murphy And 6-Year Old Son Celebrate Birthday After Battle With Cancer
Emmy-award winning Ryan Murphy and his husband of 8 years, David Miller, have welcomed three children since 2012 via surrogate. Their firstborn is Logan Phineas, with Ford being born in 2014, and their newest addition, Griffin Sullivan born on August 18, 2020.
Ford was diagnosed with neuroblastoma cancer at just 18 months, and overcame the tumultuous battle with the disease. Murphy wrote in an Instagram post:
'Much love and respect to our warrior Ford Theodore Miller Murphy, who battled neuroblastoma cancer at 18 months and survived and thrived and today celebrated his SIXTH birthday."
He continued, "David and I are so grateful to Children's Hospital Los Angeles and all the doctors and helpers who continue to love and care for Ford. There is in fact a wing with Ford's name on it to honor his spirit and all the children who are still in the fight."
Murphy shared a photo of Ford at their Los Angeles swimming pool with a happy birthday sign, and Murphy captioning it "King of the Day...Ford at 6."
Murphy and Miller's son Ford thankfully overcame the cancer back in October 2019. To thank the hospital where Ford underwent several procedures and treatments, the Hollywood couple donated $10 million to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
We wish Ford a very special 6th birthday!
