Pattinson told the press that Matt Reeves did not accept any prods and instead came to the decision himself later on that Pattinson would be ideal for the role. Pattinson said "I'd had Batman in my mind for a while". He also said "It’s such an absurd thing to say. I sort of had an idea to do it, and I’d been prodding Matt. He didn’t accept any prods. I kept asking to meet him."
Robert Pattinson: "It was terrifying!"
But there were some bumps along the way. It was intended to be a secret that Pattinson would assume the role of Batman but this quickly changed after it was leaked that Matt Reeves had chosen him over Nicholas Hoult (X-Men). Pattinson said "“When that thing leaked, I was f—ing furious. Everyone was so upset. Everyone was panicking from my team. I sort of thought that had blown up the whole thing … It was terrifying. I was like, ’Oh f—! Does that screw me because they are so intent on secrecy?'”
'Batman': A tight fit for Robert Pattinson
Pattinson fits into the role of Batman nicely, but the same cannot be said for his Batsuit. The actor said he had mixed emotions when he tried on the Batsuit for the first time. “You do feel very powerful immediately,” he said. “And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating. You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.'” We won't see Pattinson in action until 25th June 2021, however the film is set to be one of a kind and we cannot wait to see this vampire do his thing as a superhero.
