The cause of death could only be speculated so far. His mother Drena De Niro suspected that pills laced with fentanyl could have been the reason for the death. In this case a woman was even arrested.
Now it's official what Robert De Niro's grandson died of. According to 'TMZ', the coroner found a lethal cocktail of drugs in Leandro's body. This was a fatal mixture of fentanyl, bromazolam, alprazolam, 7-aminoclonazepam, ketamine and cocaine.
Robert De Niro already publicly commented on the loss of Leandro: "I am deeply saddened by the death of my beloved grandson Leo. We are very grateful for everyone's expressions of sympathy. We ask that we be able to mourn our loss of Leo in peace," the actor told 'Fox News Digital'.
