Out of all the short-lived celebrity marriages... Tom Green and Drew Barrymore's has to be one of the most interesting.
It's easy to forget, but Green, the noted comedian, and Barrymore, the star actress, actually got married in 2001. However, the unlikely couple called it quits just a few months later. Here's a look back at their relationship.
Drew Barrymore and Tom Green's relationship timeline
Green and Barrymore began dating in 1999 after they met while filming Charlie's Angels. Barrymore was also producing the film and had asked Green to co-star as she was a fan of his '90s TV show.
The couple got engaged in 2000, and they got caught up in several media stunts before the wedding, including a memorable one on Saturday Night Live.
Green hosted SNL on Nov. 18, 2000, and brought his fiancée to tell the audience they'd be getting married onstage at the end of the episode.
But, as the episode closed, Barrymore never showed and left an enraged Green onstage solo, before a shocked audience. (Green later clarified that it was a "prank," but the incident probably hints that this wasn't your typical couple...)
Green and Barrymore did marry for real in 2001, but they didn't make it to the end of the year. They separated after just five months of marriage.

In the end, it was actually Green who broke it off with Barrymore. He filed for divorce in December 2001 citing irreconcilable differences. In a statement at the time, Green said:
"Drew is a wonderful woman. I love her very much. I wish our marriage could have worked out. I wish her much happiness."
The marriage officially ended in October 2002, and little was ever heard about the Green-Barrymore union again — that is, until 2020. Just last year, Green made a surprise appearance on his ex's talk show.
The interview was billed as the former couple's first reunion in over 15 years. It was an emotional and bittersweet experience for the pair — and it's a great watch!
Green has never remarried, while Barrymore divorced her third husband Will Kopelman in 2016. You can click here to look back through the years with Drew Barrymore.
