Regé-Jean Page and Phoebe Dynevor are one of the hottest new on-screen couples, leaving fans to wonder if there's something more to their chemistry behind the scenes! As People shares, Page recently addressed the rumours that he and his Bridgerton co-star are hooking up, explaining why the only relationship that exists is the one between their characters!
Page says chemistry is due to the "sparky scripted material"
Page and Dynevor appeared in a video interview together for Access this month, which is when the topic of the dating rumours surrounding them was posed. And while Page has been private about his love life, he took the opportunity to make one thing clear— he and his co-star aren't romantically involved!
"I think everything you need to know is on camera. That's why we presented it so beautifully for you," the actor—who plays "Simon Basset" in Bridgerton— explained during the interview. "All the sparks that flew off of the beautiful scripts that we were handed, and so I think that the sparky scripted material are more than enough."
Dynevor explains what "really excited" her about Bridgerton
Dynevor— who plays "Daphne Bridgerton"— also shared what initially appealed to her about the show. And as it turns out, it has to do with who was behind the scenes! "I knew that the women were gonna have real agency," Dynevor told Access of finding out that Bridgerton was produced by Shonda Rhimes' production company, Shondaland. "They were not gonna be, you know, timid women... so that was the thing that really excited me."
Bridgerton has been a huge hit since it dropped on December 25, drawing in millions of viewers across the globe. And even though the second season of the scandalous period drama hasn't been confirmed as of yet, it seems that it's already on the way! Production Weekly has revealed that a project called "Bridgerton 02" is set to film in Uxbridge, England in March, which means Bridgerton fans won't have to wait much longer to find out more about the show's future!
