Kim has become a household name after many years on television, brining the drama and the fights to people's screens. And she’s always been open and vulnerable about things like her struggle with alcoholism, as well as her road to recovery. After her exit from the show, she has appeared on the show here and there. Whenever there is a reunion, she's also often invited back. Here is what Kim Richards been up to since leaving the show.
Fans miss seeing Kim on the show very much
In 2015, Richards was arrested for stealing around $600 of goods from a store in San Fernando Valley. She was sentenced to 36 months of probation, 300 hours of community service and 52 AA meetings. And it wasn't the first time either. Richards was also charged for battery and resisting arrest at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where she received the exact same sentence. She later admitted to drinking the night of the Beverly Hills hotel incident. But then she started to turn things around.
Her daughter gave birth to a son in 2016, and becoming a grandmother gave Kim a renewed sense of self. "I'd have to say it's the happiest time in my life, but being a grandmother has definitely brought out the best part of me again...he's changed my life," she told 'Bravo' during an interview. Although she always fought with her sister Kyle Richards, her sibling still had beautiful words for her nephew. "Kim is so happy. She's loving having a grandson. I still cannot say that. I can't even believe that's coming out of my mouth," she said. And Kim kept going with her recovery.
"My recovery has been amazing and I love how I feel. This has been a huge part of it and has helped me a lot. The sanctuary keeps me grounded and keeps me at peace and it's healthy for me. It's been amazing for me and me coming here has really been a major part of keeping me sober," Kim told 'E!' in 2017.

In August 2018, she went public with her longtime boyfriend, businessman Wynn Katz, by appearing on the reality TV show 'Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars'. "I mean, I think we were kind of stuck and stagnant, and I feel like doing Marriage Boot Camp would push us along, and we were stuck in a few areas," she told 'Entertainment Tonight'.
Since then, she has focused on her health, despite a brief relapse in 2019. It ended in an emergency room stay at UCLA where she left against medical advice. "She was incoherent, rambling and seemed to be having a serious mental health breakdown of sorts. Doctors did a toxicology screening, but Kim left the E.R.," a source told 'Us Weekly'.
Since then, no issues have been reported. Kim has also mended fences with her sister Kyle and is on good terms with her now. She was recently rumored to be writing a memoir. 'US Weekly' broke the news that Kim Richards was planning a book that promised to tell the whole truth about her life and family, titled 'The Whole Truth: The Reality of It All'.
But apparently Kim's publisher scrapped the idea. These days, Kim is focused on her family, and will not likely be on television anytime soon. Happy birthday Kim!
