The "Queen of Soul" Aretha Franklin, was the first woman to be honoured with a special citation prize. These special citation prizes have been awarded since 1930 and this will be a posthumous Pulitzer awarded to the legendary singer.

The wonderful Aretha Franklin passed away on August 16th, 2018 at the age of seventy-six due to pancreatic cancer. She was an absolute legend in the music world and even had the name, the "Queen of Soul". She was honoured in 2019 with a Pulitzer Prize along with Canadian composer, Ellen Reid who was honoured the Prize for Music. For the full story, click on the video above.
