2019 Emmy Awards - Bob Newhart (90) Makes A Surprise Appearance: "I'm Still Alive"
The 2019 Emmy Awards ceremony took place last Sunday at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California, and one of the most emotional moments of the event was when the Game of Thrones star Peter Dinklage accepted the award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series: "I count myself so fortunate to be a member of a community that is nothing but all about tolerance and diversity. Because no other place could I be standing on a stage like this,” said Peter Dinklage, who was born with dwarfism.
The 50-year-old actor also opened up about his work in Game of Thrones and said that he had no idea about what he was getting into: "It’s been about 10 years, all said and done, since the moment I met Dave and Dan until right now. I had no idea what I was getting myself into, but I knew David and Dan were quite brilliant. We did nothing but sweat, we did nothing but laugh. Dave and Dan, we literally walked through fire and ice for you, literally. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat,” the actor said, referring to the series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss.

This was Peter Dinklage's fourth win for his role as "Tyrion" and his second consecutive one, setting a record for the most prizes ever in the category of Best Supporting Actor in a Drama. This year he beat his GoT co-stars Alfie Allen and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau; as well as Jonathan Banks and Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), Michael Kelly (House of Cards) and Chris Sullivan (This is Us.)
