Despite keeping a low profile these last few years, Britney Spears is making headlines once again, as more information surrounding her conservatorship has come to light.
Longtime pal Paris Hilton is weighing in with her own opinions on the matter, and is making it clear she's sticking up for her friend!
Paris Hilton stands by Britney
During her recent appearance on SiriusXM's Radio Andy, Paris Hilton opened up about her relationship with the early 2000s pop icon, Britney Spears.
"I saw her this summer," Hilton said when talking about her most recent hangout with Spears. "We've had dinners, I saw her in Malibu."
"I just love her so much," she continued. "I feel like if you are an adult, you should be able to live your life and not be controlled."
"I think that maybe stems from me being controlled so much," she added.
Hilton has been more public about what she went through growing up as of late and is being transparent about her past abuse and traumas.
"I can understand how that would feel and I can’t imagine right now if that was still happening to me. After just working your whole life and working so hard, she's this icon, and I just feel like she has no control of her life whatsoever and I just don't think that’s fair," Hilton added.
When asked if she's ever pressed Spears on the issue, Hilton said she has avoided that conversation.
"No, I don't like bringing things up like that," she said. "She is so sweet and so innocent and such a nice girl. We just talk about happy things. Music, fashion … fun things."
Hilton added, "I never like to bring up negative things and make people feel uncomfortable, so I've never talked about it with her."
Britney's conservatorship was first placed in 2008 with her father, Jamie Spears. Since then, #FreeBritney has trended on Twitter.
