- Kidman suffered a flare-up while filming
- The actress is currently recovering in Tennessee
Nicole Kidman recently missed out on one of Hollywood's biggest events for an unfortunate reason! As Variety has reported, the actress was unable to attend this year's Oscars luncheon after a leg injury caused her to stay at home recovering instead.
Kidman had been filming when injury was aggravated
Kidman is nominated for an Academy Award for her portrayal of Lucille Ball in Being The Ricardos, which is also a Best Picture contender. However, the actress was notably absent from the annual luncheon celebrating the year's Oscars nominees, which was held on Monday at the Fairmont Century Plaza hotel in Los Angeles. While stars like Jessica Chastain and Will Smith were present, Kidman is currently in Nashville as she heals from a hamstring injury.
According to Variety, the star had been in Los Angeles shooting her new Amazon Prime series Expats when she suddenly experienced a painful flare-up from a past injury. Now, the show has temporarily suspended production, with Kidman on the mend at home under doctor's orders. Her injury comes at an inconvenient time since the the 2022 Oscars are later this month.

Kidman has already won a Golden Globe for Being the Ricardos, and recently spoke out about the backlash she has received for the film. If she does win the Oscar this year, the star would become a two-time winner, after taking home Best Actress in 2002 for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Hopefully she is able to get well soon and attend the ceremony!
